Bouncing with excitement as the little goat chomped away, it was easy to see Annie didn’t need my help. Handing her the few carrot slices I had left, I stepped back out into the hazy mid-afternoon sunshine to seek out the sea lions.I arrived in time to catch the end of a riveting performance by Kimmy, Zoey and baby Syra: the three fun-loving rescue sea lions.
The ladies flip-flopped and sashayed across the watery stage with impressive discipline.Following the show, Kimmy even stuck around for photos with her fans and planted a wet one on my cheek.By now, it was time to head over to the one last animal performance featuring three Alaskan grizzly bears.
It was a thrill to see the bears tussle with each other and play around with their trainer from behind a 12-foot reinforced fence.Unfortunately, the bears’ admittedly overprotective trainers decided against letting me inside the cage to meet Yogi.
But after a little marshmallow persuasion, the 400-pound, 7seven-and-a-half -foot grizzly obliged to a through-the-fence smooch and my Brockton Fair experience was complete.
